Insurance and Billing Information


Memphis Surgery Center accepts multiple insurance payers. Prior to your surgery date, you will be contacted regarding your insurance coverage. Due to the large number of plans accepted by the Memphis Surgery Center it is recommended that you contact your insurance company if you have specific questions in regards to your coverage. Remember, it is your responsibility to be knowledgeable on how your insurance plan works. Your co-payment will be due on the date of service. An estimate of possible co-insurance will be given to you. Any estimated coinsurance payment will be due on the date of surgery unless prior arrangements have been made with the facility. If you have both a co-pay and co-insurance, we request that both are paid on the date of service. The facility does not require that any deductibles be paid up front; however, if any deductible is withheld from our claim, you will be responsible, and we will bill you at that time.

You will be billed separately for the services of lab, anesthesia, and pathology since these are not included in your charges for the facility.

As a courtesy, we will file your insurance claim for you after surgery. We will ask you to sign an “assignment of benefits” upon your admission so your insurance payment comes directly to the facility. Any amounts not covered by your insurance will be billed to you. We accept Visa, American Express, Discover and Master Card with credit card approval on the date of payment. We also accept cashier checks and personal checks.

If the facility fee costs are more than anticipated, you will be billed for the difference. Any overpayment will be refunded after receipt of the insurance payment. The bill from Memphis Surgery Center will not reflect the charges of your surgeon, anesthesia services, lab services, pathology services, or DiOrtho services, who are the supplier of software including: crutches, slings, and post-op shoes as an example.

We at Memphis Surgery Center are proud to provide you with top-quality care, and are dedicated to making that care as cost effective as possible. That is why we are excited to introduce you to care credit. CareCredit is a service offered by GE Capital Consumer Card Co. It is a flexible, monthly payment plan that can be used immediately. If you qualify this credit can be used for cosmetic surgery, deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurances. You can apply for CareCredit in the privacy of your own home by going to www.carecredit.com or you can pick up an application at Memphis Surgery Center.
